“Dalhart
Dollars” Program
The Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce is starting a year round program to help insure that more money stays in the Dalhart area. Our Dalhart Dollars are designed to work exactly like cash and can only be spent at local participating merchants.
Customers
purchase the Dalhart Dollars from the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce. After spending the Dalhart Dollars with any
participating merchant, the merchant returns the Dalhart Dollars to the Chamber
of Commerce office where they will be redeemed for the exact face value. Merchants treat the Dalhart Dollars just like
cash on a dollar for dollar exchange. As
an example, a customer purchases a $14.95 item and gives the merchant two 10.00
certificates. The merchant would return
to the customer $5.05 in cash, then the merchant will bring the two $10.00
certificates to the Chamber office where they will be given a check for $20.00. There are no fees or charges to participate
in the program it’s just one more way that the Chamber is working for you.
