What it is…
Your Chamber is a
voluntary organization of citizens who are investing time and
money in a community development program…working together to
improve the economic, civic and cultural well being of the area.
Any interested citizen is eligible to be a member.
The dues structure is designed to permit the smallest
business or any eligible citizen to be a member.
What it does…
Your Chamber is an
action organization which provides a medium through which people
can take effective action for the progress of the community.
It seeks to create an environment for retail, commercial
and wholesale business of all types. It
strives to promote and assist retail, industry, agriculture,
dairy, hogs and the cattle industries in maintaining a strong
economy. It stands to assist the
Dalhart Economic Development Corporation in bringing new
business and industry to the area. It
serves as a partner to every business, professional and
individual member.
How it functions…
Working councils and
committees are the backbone of the organization.
Guidance, inspiration, and practical application of ideas
are implemented by the many volunteers who serve on the councils
and committees. The board of directors
approves all activities and funding for all Chamber programs and
endeavors.
Each year a program of
work is implemented and various responsibilities are delegated
in an effort to improve the economic welfare of the community
and to enhance the quality of life in the community.
Why Should You Be A
Chamber Member?
Active membership in
your chamber carries with it a sense of accomplishment and pride
of satisfaction from the knowledge that you are doing your share
of an important job for the community.
Although everyone in the community benefits from the work of the
Chamber, you can accept these benefits with pride ONLY if you
have had a part in bringing them about.
A great way to build your business is by helping to build your
community. Your personal sacrifice
ensures your personal rewards in the community.
