Dalhart Dollars Program

The Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce is starting a year round program to help insure that more money stays in the Dalhart area.  Our Dalhart Dollars are designed to work exactly like cash and can only be spent at local participating merchants.  

Customers purchase the Dalhart Dollars from the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce.  After spending the Dalhart Dollars with any participating merchant, the merchant returns the Dalhart Dollars to the Chamber of Commerce office where they will be redeemed for the exact face value.  Merchants treat the Dalhart Dollars just like cash on a dollar for dollar exchange.  As an example, a customer purchases a $14.95 item and gives the merchant two 10.00 certificates.  The merchant would return to the customer $5.05 in cash, then the merchant will bring the two $10.00 certificates to the Chamber office where they will be given a check for $20.00.  There are no fees or charges to participate in the program it’s just one more way that the Chamber is working for you.

New Neighbors Program

The Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce began in October of 2003 our New Neighbors Program.  This program provides an opportunity for Chamber Members to get information about their business or services into the hands of new community residents.  The following details the aspects of this program.

Information for New Neighbor Packets- This program allows our members to provide information to the Chamber that you would like to include in the packets.  We would like to encourage you to include coupons, discounts, gift certificates, brochures, flyers, novelties, gifts, business cards or anything that you use to promote your business.  There is about 10 new residents each month so we will need about 60 pieces to start. From there, we will contact you when we need more materials for the packets. 

How the Packets are Distributed - The Chamber receives a list from the City of Dalhart that gives us the names and street location of individuals who have asked for new water service.  The list is review in hopes of only sending cards to those individuals who are new to Dalhart.  The Chamber then sends an welcome card to these individuals telling them to stop by the office and pick-up their packets.  We also give the welcome packets to individuals who visit our office and tell us they are new to Dalhart.
