There are nearly 40 churches in the Dalhart area
encompassing various faiths. The churches host weekend
services and small group studies during the week for
those interested.The growth of Dalhart is welcomed by
the churches and many are working to meet the needs of
new and existing residents. The Seventh Day Adventist
Church broke ground on a new church facility. The
People's Church remodeled their sanctuary and added a
new coffee shop. New Life Fellowship also remodeled
their sanctuary, offices and added a coffee shop. First
Baptist Church of Dalhart has an off-property facility
with a non-denominational atmosphere, The FALLOUT
Shelter, that houses a coffee shop and games for
children seventh grade and up. Liberty Baptist Church
has a new building for worship on Highway 87. There is a
Community Prayer Center on 7th Street that serves as an
interdenominational place to pray and meet.
The Dalhart Ministerial Alliance provides clothing,
food and necessities for those in need through Good
Samaritan Ministries. The Rescue Mission offers men in
need a bed or a free meal. The Ministerial Alliance also
sponsors the annual food basket program, Edna's Light,
for needy families during the Christmas season.
